We have been exploring options to learn to dive for several years. We are not strong swimmers and wanted to increase our water skills so we can dive under Dragonfly to inspect the bottom, be able to unwrap a line from the prop, and feel more comfortable snorkeling.
As we discussed our concerns and goals at Strictly Sail last year, Dennis and Shirla mentioned that they were taking diving lessons. Their story inspired us to check into diving lessons from Captain Nemo’s in Columbia. http://www.captnemos.com/
Suz and I completed our open water certification with a weekend class in May and a long weekend of diving at Bull Shoals in August. We were excited when our PADI open water certification card arrived in late September. We enjoyed our lessons so much that we bought equipment and dove during our vacation in Cozumel (2008) and BVI (summer 2009).
